The breadth of his sensibility, although frustrating, makes me groan, "As expected...". And I am curious to see Hina-san's reaction.

How are Genkitchoan dolls made?
Tradition and Craftsmanship
Tachi-hina and paper hina dolls appeared in the Muromachi period (1333-1573), and more ornate hina dolls began to be made in the Edo period (1603-1868). Genkitchoan's hina dolls are based on the "Jirozaemon dolls" invented in the Kanbun era (1660s) during the mid-Edo period by Hinaya Jirozaemon, a long-established shop in Kyoto.
The distinctive features are a warm, round face and a traditional hooked nose with a hooked eye. Craftsmen created the dolls with great attention to detail based on picture scrolls and historical materials from the Heian period. The costumes are decorated with gold and silver threads for a luxurious finish.
Integration with modern technology
While preserving tradition, Genkitchoan also incorporates evolutions in line with the times. For example, new environmentally friendly materials are being used, and compact hina ornaments are being developed to suit modern living spaces.
The exhibition also makes use of LED lighting and introduces explanatory tools for overseas visitors in an effort to promote Japanese culture.
