キャンピングカー同伴 ── 銀座のホステスたちと、南房総の楽園プールへ

"The fun starts the moment you set out."

With that, Hachimine produced—of all things—a camper van. He loaded the hostesses from Ginza into it and headed for a paradise resort perched on a hill in Minamibōsō, Chiba—about a 70-minute drive from the city center. When it comes to taking a date out, dining near Ginza is the standard routine, but with this guy, the premise is different from the very start.

BOTANICAL POOL CLUB — A tropical resort surrounded by 300 species of plants

Our destination is the “BOTANICAL POOL CLUB” in Kyonan Town, Chiba Prefecture. Opened in August 2023 with a “pool club” theme, it is a resort hotel where guests can enjoy an outdoor heated pool year-round. Although it’s conveniently located about a 70-minute drive from downtown Tokyo, the moment you step inside, you’re transported to a whole other world.

If you follow the path—open only to guests—up to the hilltop, you’ll find a vast grounds covering a total area of approximately 10,000 square meters, teeming with over 300 varieties of unique plants, primarily palm trees. It’s an otherworldly space that makes you feel as if you’ve wandered into a jungle.

The facility features the “BLACK POOL,” a 40-meter-long infinity pool, and the “SIGNATURE POOL,” a circular pool with flickering flames at its center—both of which are heated. Swim while overlooking the blue sea, revel in the sunset sinking into the horizon at dusk, and at night, be enchanted by the star-filled sky and the flames by the poolside—the design is truly extravagant, offering every possible delight.

In addition, this facility features saunas. There are two types: the “SWEAT LODGE,” which features a jacuzzi and an open-air relaxation area, and the “SWEAT BOX,” where you can enjoy botanical views by the pool. You can even experience a full routine that begins with a session in an art sauna featuring jungle-themed artwork, followed by cooling off in an open-air relaxation area lined with ancient plants.

At the poolside bar, you can enjoy champagne and original cocktails. In short, it’s Instagram-worthy. It’s just so Instagram-worthy. It was definitely a place that the hostesses of Ginza wouldn’t just pass by without noticing.

To begin with, why a campervan?

This raises a question. Why a camper van?

The answer is simple: Hachimine said, “Because it’s more fun that way.” It’s his usual way of thinking—turning the 70-minute ride to our destination into a fun adventure. The journey to Minami-Boso, spent in lively company with the hostesses inside the car, was an event in and of itself. It’s not hard to imagine that the atmosphere was completely different from that inside the Ginza club—it was much more open and relaxed.

"This way, it'll be fun even before we get there, right?"

Although Hachimine looked quite pleased with himself, it goes without saying that at this point, the hostesses’ eyes were already fixed not on the car, but on the Instagram-worthy pool waiting just ahead.

In Paradise, they are, after all, the stars of the show

As soon as they arrived at the resort, the hostesses’ excitement reached a fever pitch. Palm trees, an infinity pool, tropical flowers—they pointed their cameras at every picture-perfect spot in sight. With drinks in hand by the pool, they struck poses of their own choosing. In the blink of an eye, paradise had turned into their very own photo studio.

As for Hachimine, he’s watching the scene from a deck chair a short distance away. Even though he’s the event organizer accompanying them, he’s found himself completely in the background. But that’s fine. Sipping his drink while watching the women having fun—this is precisely the kind of poise a man who’s been around the nightlife scene for a long time possesses.

Of course, the sauna was one of the highlights of the trip. We worked up a good sweat in the large, glass-enclosed sauna, then refreshed ourselves in the outdoor relaxation area while enjoying the sea breeze. There’s something quite charming about working up a sweat in a place far removed from the hustle and bustle of Ginza.

As the setting sun paints the sea and night eventually falls, the flames glowing by the poolside flicker in a magical way.

A quiet, luxurious moment, quite different from the glitz and glamour of the daytime. Even the seasoned hostesses fell silent for a moment in the face of this scene.

To wrap things up, we’ll head to Ginza, of course.

After playing to their hearts' content and working up a sweat, the group set off for home. That said, the nature of being a companion means it doesn't end there. They made a quick round trip from Minami-Boso to Ginza, and Hachimine headed to the club where the hostesses worked.

The women, who had been in swimsuits by the pool earlier that day, greeted him in dresses at the restaurant. Although they were the same group of people, the change of setting made them seem like completely different people. Hachimine was once again impressed by the striking nature of that transformation.

As he sipped his drink at the table, he remarked, “The pool this afternoon was nice, but there’s nothing quite like this atmosphere to put me at ease,” having fully reverted to his usual Ginza self. The day that had begun in paradise ultimately came to a close in the familiar surroundings of Ginza.

Summary

We set out in a camper van, enjoyed the pool, sauna, sunset, and starry sky in the paradise of Minami-Boso, and capped off the day at a club in Ginza. It was a day that effortlessly transcended the concept of "going out with someone"—from the moment we set out to the very end, it was a completely extraordinary experience.

As usual, he let the hostesses take center stage, and Hachimine was in high spirits the whole time. I wonder what kind of ride we’ll take next, and where we’ll head. When traveling with this guy, it’s always more interesting to see “how we’ll get there” than the destination itself.
