At the end of December 2025, Hachimine and a group of friends from Ginza visited Barcelona, Spain.
In Barcelona, Hachimine and his friends chose to watch flamenco at a long-established tablao and to attend a countdown party with a strong local atmosphere.
Hear flamenco “with your body” at Tablao Códobes.”

The first place I visited was Tabulao Cordobes. Here, Japanese versions of the official website as well as local pamphlets are available, making it an easy place for first-time Japanese visitors to enjoy.

Many people may feel uneasy about entering an unknown restaurant in a foreign country where they do not speak the language.
A restaurant that can crush that place is worth it.
Food is a Mediterranean buffet. Designed to be tourist friendly.
Dinner will be a buffet of Mediterranean cuisine, including paella. After the meal, head to a dedicated hall to watch flamenco.
What is good about this format is that it separates "time to focus on the meal" from "time to focus on the show.
The better a restaurant is at making this switch when traveling, the more satisfied the customer will be.
To put it crudely, “not busy.”
Front row center value. The dome ceiling creates a "speaker in space"
After the meal, they move to the area where the stage is located.
Hachimine and his team secured front row center seats.
The domed ceiling reverberates the sound, causing the sound to fly forward without microphones or speakers.
Footsteps, hand claps, guitar, breathing. Everything is “close”.
The space itself is an amplification device rather than a showy production.
New Year's Eve in El Xalet de Montjuïc. The air becomes localized at once.
The next night is a countdown party at El Xalet de Montjuïc.
What I felt here was a completely different feeling from that of a “tourist event.
Upon entering the restaurant, participants are given props, which they all wear to create an extraordinary atmosphere.

There were few Asians, including Japanese, in the restaurant, and locals made up the majority of participants.
This "away-from-home" feeling of place is necessary at least once during the trip.
If you can enjoy it, the density of the experience increases.
Twelve bells and twelve grapes. Moments when prayer becomes a habit.
During dinner, the atmosphere is gradually elevated by musical instruments and other performances.
Then, as the countdown approaches, participants go out to the terrace. This is where the real work begins.

There is a tradition of eating grapes on New Year's Eve in Spain.
At the moment of the New Year's Eve, people eat 12 grapes while making a wish to ring the bell 12 times.
Just by doing the same action at the same time, an unfamiliar city becomes instantly closer.
New Year fireworks. The whole city says "Happy New Year" to you.
As the New Year arrived, fireworks were displayed in a spot visible from the terrace.
It feels as if the whole city of Barcelona is celebrating the new year.
It's not an individual event. It's a city-wide event.
The strength of this location was the ability to “see” the scale.
Summary|How to make a night in Barcelona “yours” in a short time
What Hachimine experienced on these two nights was not just a tourist experience. It was an authentic flamenco performance and a New Year's Eve moment of sharing traditions with the locals. Experiencing the local culture firsthand is the best way to get a deeper appreciation of a place.
A night in Barcelona is not memorable because it is flashy.
The sounds and traditions stay in your body. That's why we don't forget.
