関係者席から見た「LAST CALL COLLECTION」── キャバ嬢オーディションが、アリーナを埋めた日

Women who make their living in the nightlife scene take the stage at an arena with a capacity of 7,000. Not long ago, this would have been unimaginable. Before anyone realized it, the work of hostesses had become mainstream entertainment. Hachimine watched the event—which was at the very heart of this transformation—from the VIP section.

LAST CALL COLLECTION — The Definitive Collection of the Hostess Audition Show with 1 Billion Total Views

"LAST CALL" is a YouTube show hosted by ROLAND—known as a charismatic host—and businessman Yuji Mizoguchi, who serve as the show’s representatives and MCs. It is known as Japan’s first audition show for star hostesses. The cumulative views of related videos have surpassed 1 billion, and the show has garnered a large following, particularly among women.

This exciting and modern concept—in which contestants, dubbed “Cinderellas,” take on challenges, with successful participants receiving up to 10 million yen in cosmetic surgery expenses from a beauty clinic—has been generating a lot of buzz.

The first major live event to stem from that show is “LAST CALL COLLECTION 2026.” It will be held on June 28, 2026, at TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO in Odaiba, Tokyo. It has been planned as a large-scale event expected to draw an audience of 7,000 people.

Hachimine relied on his connections to obtain a VIP ticket and gain entry. As someone who had long been a part of the nightlife scene, this event was something he simply couldn’t ignore.

TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO — A Stage for a New Era

The venue, TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO, is a large-scale arena that just opened last fall. Popular hostesses and top influencers from across the country gathered in this space, which can accommodate up to 7,000 people. Doors opened at 2:00 p.m., the show began at 3:00 p.m., and was scheduled to end at 8:30 p.m.—a large-scale event spanning the entire day.

Until now, stars from the nightlife scene had rarely had the opportunity to take center stage at official venues like this. The sheer size of the venue itself spoke volumes about the momentum of this event.

A Variety of Content — Photo Sessions, Live Recordings, Merchandise Sales

One of the event’s highlights was a photo session where fans could take pictures with the cast members. Photo tickets were distributed to all seat categories, and higher-tier seats even came with a bonus instant photo. The excitement among fans was palpable, as they had the chance to take photos directly with the show’s familiar MCs and Legendary Queens. Several photo booths were set up inside the venue, where attendees enjoyed taking photos to their hearts’ content.

An open recording of the show was also held. The cast members, whom viewers usually see only on screen, interacted right in front of the audience while the cameras rolled. There was a relaxed atmosphere there—one that felt distinctly like a YouTube-style event, quite different from a typical TV recording.

At the merchandise booth, limited-edition event T-shirts, towels, and rubber bands were sold, and all attendees received limited-edition trading cards, stickers, and original chocolates.

The sponsor booths were also well-stocked, featuring on-site buyback events hosted by a platinum sponsor—a specialty buyback store—as well as a free consultation booth run by the main sponsor, a beauty clinic, and a commentary corner for the popular TV segment “God Doctor Time.”

Furthermore, prominent groups in the nightlife industry—such as Ace Group, Chick Group, Rio Group, and Kaiser Group—were listed as sponsors, clearly demonstrating that the entire industry was rallying behind this event. It was a lineup that could truly be described as an all-out battle by the nightlife world.

These sponsor groups held their own runway shows—separate from the queens’ runway shows described below—where the cast members from each group showcased themselves in special dresses. A distinctive feature of this event was that it was not merely a talk show, but rather an “experiential” event that integrated entertainment, beauty, and retail.

The excitement in the venue

According to audience reports, more than 80 percent of the seats were filled, and the atmosphere inside was certainly electric. Each fan had their own favorite cast member, and cheers erupted every time their favorite person appeared. Here, hostesses were unquestionably treated as “stars.”

Hachimine watched the scene from the VIP section. He couldn’t help but be genuinely impressed—had the time finally come when people from the underworld could take center stage on such a grand scale and be cheered on by their fans?

What had just happened, and the runway show that was supposed to have been “canceled”

However, this event was not just a peaceful day. From the night before through the day of the event, the four main “Queens” of the show withdrew from the event one after another, sparking widespread speculation on social media. Furthermore, Kirara Asuka, who was scheduled to appear as a surprise guest, also canceled her appearance on the day of the event. She expressed dissatisfaction with the organizers’ handling of the situation on social media and revealed that she had left the venue before her scheduled appearance.

It is believed that several incidents coincided to trigger the situation, but since the parties involved have conflicting accounts, the truth cannot be determined at this time. On the day of the event, organizer Yuji Mizoguchi announced that he would cancel the main attraction—Queen’s runway show—citing threats he had received from a whistleblower account. Despite the event’s “no refunds” policy, he took the unusual step of issuing full refunds to all attendees.

However, that wasn’t the end of the story. Enrique, a legendary hostess known as the “Legend Queen,” posted a video on her social media showing her striding confidently down the runway with a glass of champagne in hand. “I was feeling lonely without a runway, so I decided to do a solo runway show on the spot,” she wrote, reporting that she had taken it upon herself to “force her way through” the runway, and that other hostesses followed suit. The runway show—which had supposedly been officially canceled—was brought to life by the performers’ own initiative.

Hachimine watched this series of events with mixed feelings. There was certainly confusion. But at the same time, it was a scene that showed there are people who, even when the stage set before them disappears, will still walk on their own two feet.

Summary

It’s true that the event was fraught with problems. Neither the last-minute withdrawal nor the refund controversy can be justified. However, for the nightlife industry, the fact that hostess club work—as a form of entertainment—was able to fill an arena with a capacity of 7,000 people is by no means insignificant.

The nightlife scene used to be a world where it wasn’t considered proper to be seen in public. Now, however, it has grown to the point where videos on YouTube have racked up a billion views and live events are held in massive arenas. Just as there was a hostess who took to the runway herself after a show was canceled, this industry possesses the strength to step forward even when the stage is in disarray.

This recent turmoil may be a sign of the strain caused by the fact that the operational structure couldn’t keep up with the rapid growth. As someone who has been in the industry for a long time, rather than simply criticizing what I’m seeing, I wanted to document this as a snapshot of a transitional period in which the nightlife scene is stepping into a new era. If there’s a next time, I hope to see it take a better form.
